Occupied Time

So where have I been ?

Good question.

I wonder the same nowadays.

It's already Friday, and time has passed with stunning quickness.

Well, I'm sure some of you are wondering, "Where's the info on the South" and with good reason, but the best I can say is that's it's still a work in Progress. And this week I was dealt a rather crushing blow as my computer has completely stopped working....which puts a damper on "pre-typing" my blogs...so yea. Je suis desolee. But I have not forgotten and it will come so rest easy. I even promised my mom so yea... If you'd like to get a "taste" of what the experience was like, hop over to my partner in crime's weblog, Mr. Brian Seelig has begun documenting our voyage at bseelig.nomadlife.org or give it a look. If nothing else, he has the coolest pictures !

In the meantime the bulk of my attention has been spent catching up with an good friend from a time in the past, the wonderful Samantha Michels. Sam has been spending the last year in France teaching english, and is now nearing the end of her time on this side of the Earth. She somehow decided to take a trip very different from her previous ones and come to Tunisia. For whatever her reasons, I'm glad she did. I soon remembered that it had been close to 2 years since I'd seen her last, and it was kinda surreal meeting her again. Part of me wondered what it would be like to see her again, and how she'd changed and/or how would've changed in her eyes. Fortunately, things hadn't changed all that much , and we've enjoyed our time together.

I never expected anyone to come and visit me in Tunisia, but I think of the short list of people who's company I geniunely enjoy, I'm glad Sam made the visit. She's my very first guest and hopefully not the last, but if she is, the time was well spent. It's very refreshing being able to catch up with old friends and share life a little, and I think in my "old age" I'm starting to value that all the more.

So thanks for showing up Sam, your smiles and laughs and late night talks have definitely helped me , more than you may know.

Unfortunately I had still had to work, so I couldn't enjoy sleeping in and being touristy around Tunis with her, but...at least this way she can "enjoy" her trip. Despite working, we have been able to pass the time quite well, traveling to beaches , seeing mountains, visiting ruins, drinking tea, and playing UNO ( probably one of the best times). Well, I was just the tour guide to these places and events, so if you want to get a first hand opinion about visiting Tunis and having me a guide ( I guess ) , just check out Sams's blog http://samiam.xiromethod.com/.

I've also had the pleasure of being sick ( yes again), this week, but it's only a cold...annoying at best. So it was definitely been one heck of an eventful " un-eventful " week. Through it all the weather has starting get better, inch by inch, but you never really can be sure in Tunis, one day it's sunny and 75 degrees, the next it's cloudy and 55 degrees. Eh...c'est la vie.

Well, I have to head back to work now, but I wish you all a Happy Friday, and a great weekend.

See sometime soon
